Abstract

A case of leiomyosarcoma of the rectum treated by abdominoperineal resection is reported.
A brief account of the experiences of others with these rare lesions has been reviewed
The common symptoms the spread and the present thoughts on the treatment of leiomyosarcoma of the rectum have been discussed. The ultimate prognosis of patients suffering from leiomyosarcoma of the rectum is poor.
